One More Week!!!

I can't believe it is already here. Next week, we will have a little girl in our arms...We can't wait! We are so excited and a little nervous at the same time. We went to the doctor today. He said that she is weighing in around 7.5 lbs right now. She is already bigger than her cousin Thomas! He said everything was looking good. We are just hoping her shoulders aren't too big from the diabetes, if they are then I will end up having to have a C-section, but we won't know until that day. We had to switch the induction date to the 22nd because he had a surgery on the 21st. Which was fine with us because the 22nd is my father-n-laws birthday. We will go see the doctor Monday morning to learn everything we need to do for the big day and then we go check into the hospital Tuesday at 6am. This is all if she doesn't come earlier, which would also be fine with me. I'm starting to get very uncomfortable, but just have to keep thinking only one more week!!!

Crossen's Nursery

My Aunt Cindy, mom and mother-n-law came over last week to decorate my nursery. They did an awesome job... I love it! My Aunt Cindy is wonderful at decorating and I really appreciate everything she did for me. Crossen is one lucky girl! The only two things we are still waiting on are the slip covers for the rocker and a side table for it too. We just put a side table that we had in the house there for now but Cindy found one that will go perfect.

36 Weeks

Any Day Now or 20 Days

I went to the doctor yesterday for my weekly checkup. He is still concerned about my diabetes so he would like to induce me a little early. Good news though is that he doesn't think I will be having any 9 lb baby. We set up a day! So I will be induced on Sept. 21. Then he decided to check my cervix. Aaron and I didn't like the face he made. He looked shocked! I asked him why he was making that face and he said that he just wasn't expecting me to already be dilated and effaced for it being my first baby. I am 1 cm dilated and 70% effaced. He said he could already feel her head and that I would definitely not make it to my due date. So it could be any day now or a couple of more weeks! Let's hope a couple of more weeks. I have so much to do to get everything ready!

Thomas Barnes Sproull

Two weeks ago, my sister found out that her amniotic fluid was too low and she had to be induced early. Well, it worked out perfect for me because if she would have waited until her due date I would not have been able to fly out to see her. And now that she was having her baby earlier than I thought, I was able to fly out to Texas and surprise her. I am so glad I went, not only did I get to spend a week with my new nephew Thomas but I also got to see exactly what I am going to be doing in 3 weeks. And I think Sarah was very surprised to see me! Now the hard part is knowing that I won't see them again until Thanksgiving.

Crossen is Famous!

I had a doctor's appointment yesterday afternoon. I am usually only at the doctors for about 3o minutes but yesterday I was there for 2 1/2 hours. My doctor was shooting a commercial for his practice and asked me to be his ob patient. It was great because he did an extra long ultrasound for the cameras and then did an ultrasound just for me after the camera crew left. I also found out that I am not meant to be an actress. They never told me that I was going to have to answer questions on camera, so I was not prepared at all. It didn't help either that the whole camera crew didn't speak English and they were trying to have me answer questions that didn't make sense to me. I think they just went online and did the Spanish to English conversion but it didn't come out right. So hopefully they will cut my interview part out of the commercial and only use the ultrasound part where I am not talking. Also, they only gave me one shot and didn't let me have any re dos. It was crazy! It will only be on local channels, but I will definitely have to tape it.
During my ultrasound, the doctor did all the measurements to see how big Crossen is. She is weighing in at 4lbs 10oz, which means she is in the 48%. He said I am doing good with the diet. The only complaint he had was that I need to drink more fluids. He said that my body is using extra fluid to try and balance my blood sugar out so I need to drink a lot more than I usually do. I will start going to the doctor every two weeks now.

Crossen Rebecca Bryson

We finally picked a name for our little girl. We wanted a family name so we decided on Crossen Rebecca Bryson. Crossen was my middle name before I was married and it is also my grandmother's maiden name. And Rebecca is my mother's name. We have 7 more weeks until we can meet little Crossen!

Gestational Diabetes

My doctor was happy with my blood readings at my last doctor's visit. He thinks we will be able to control this just by the diet and I won't have to take insulin. The only thing he told me was that I needed to start eating more. It is hard for me to eat a lot because every time I do then I have a bad blood sugar reading. It scares me and then the next meal I try to eat less.

I also went and talked with a diabetes specialist. She was very helpful and taught me a lot. This whole time I have been avoiding foods with sugar. And really only eating vegetables and proteins. She taught me that I need carbs to fuel my body and not to be scared to eat them. She also told me that I need to count carbs instead of sugars in foods. She gave me a very detailed diet with 6 small meals a day and told me that the evening snack was the most important to help my glucose levels over night. She also told me to eat more and not to be scared when I get high readings. She said it is more important for me to eat and have high readings where then they can put me on insulin instead of starving just to get low readings. I also learned that as the pregnancy goes on the worst my blood sugars will get until about week 38 then they will have a drastic decrease. And hopefully after I deliver it will go away all together.

Since meeting with the specialist, I had very good readings for about 3 days while eating a lot more and even eating things that were making my blood sugar high before. I have been very good about the diet she put me on and trying my best to stick with it. However, the last two days my readings have gone back to being high. The only thing I can think of is that I am further along now and that my insulin requirements have increased, which she told me would happen. My next doctor's appointment is Aug. 11th. I hope he is still happy with my readings so I won't have to go on insulin. Wish me Luck!

Glucose Test

Sorry, it has been so long since my last post. I've been very busy this July. My last doctor's appointment I received my glucose test results and they came back really high. So I was diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes. My doctor put me on a diet and has me checking my blood 4 times a day. I really don't mind checking my blood but I hate the diet. I never realized that sugar is in almost everything I love. Right after I found out about this, I left for vacation and just returned home. So this week, I will have another doctor's appointment and I will also have an appointment with the diabetes specialist who should be able to help me out with my diet. I have realized that I pretty much can't drink milk or eat any whites and very few carbs. All of those things have made my blood sugar sky rocket. Hopefully, I will be able to control this just by dieting and it will go away after the pregnancy. My doctor's appointment is Tuesday and then I have the diabetes specialist on Thursday. I will let you know how it goes. And I will also post pics from my vacation.

A Concert and A Baptism

Friday night, I went to the Lynyrd Skynryd and Kid Rock concert with some friends. I think I danced the whole night. We had a blast! I was able to see some good friends that I haven't seen in a long time. There was also some great people watching.

Aaron and I became godparents on Sunday to Margaret and Conner's little girl, Ella Grace. She was so good during the whole church service. I was very impressed. Then we had a BBQ at Margaret's parents house afterwards.

Texas

Last weekend, I went to Texas to visit my sister and help her with the nursery. My aunt Cindy and mom were there too. We had a great time! The nursery is so cute. My aunt Cindy did a wonderful job putting it all together. And Sarah was so easy going, which is usually how I am.
I'm her next client but I think I'm going to be a tough client. I really don't know how I want to decorate and everything they kept suggesting this weekend I kept saying no to. Hopefully, Cindy won't want to strangle me by the time we are done. She does an awesome job and I am sure I will love whatever we end up doing!
Sarah and Rob took me to a Rangers game on Friday night. The weather was so strange that night. It stormed around the whole stadium but we never had any rain. The heat lightening was amazing and I wish I would have caught it on camera.
I had a wonderful time in Texas. I wish that Sarah and I lived closer to each other, so we could visit more often.
I will post pictures tomorrow.

25 Weeks

We went to the doctor last week and he said everything is looking good. He did a quick ultrasound and confirmed that we are still having a little girl! Wow, I have gained 20lbs already and still have until September. I am going to be huge!

The Company Trip

This year for our company trip, we went to Saddlebrook Resort in Wesley Chapel. I had so much fun spending time with family and friends. We had a lot of activities going on the whole weekend. I played a lot of tennis, when I wasn't hitting my sister with the ball. I ate way too much food that is probably why I have already gained 20 lbs. And I am just a little over half way there. We danced up a storm with TJ, our pond bird! I watched the volleyball tournament and wished I could have been out there playing. And then the last night we had a poker tournament. Last year, I won the tournament, so this year I thought I would give someone else a chance. Everyone had a blast! What a great weekend!

Bedding and Gifts

I have received so many wonderful gifts! I would like to thank Pam and Shandi for the cute clothes and books. I don't think TJ knows what to do with you guys. He said every time he turns around you guys are buying something. Y'all are too sweet! I heard TJ is great at reading Brown Bear. I will be keeping that book at the office, so we can get some entertainment. The bunny slippers and bunny blankie are from my Mom and Dad. My mom bought those slippers last year just because she thought they were so cute and I think she was ready for grand kids. Well, she got her wish. Two at one time! The bunny is adorable. Sarah and mom bought it in North Carolina, during their girls week. I think it will be her favorite blankie! The pink blanket my mother-n-law made for her. It matches the bedding I picked out perfectly. She is very crafty! Thank you everyone for the gifts! We really appreciate them. Here is the bedding I picked out. I am going to do the shabby chic look. And I think it matches the blue walls, so I won't have to paint.
